Mildred,
We have too washing machines for Mildred. Both are old but are used for washing different things. Both stopped working, within a week of each other. One could be repaired, the other was so old and sun rotted that pieces would break off of it when you tried to move it or work on it. At this point we decided it would be worth getting a new one. A very kind person felt the need to give some of the money towards the new machine. Here is where Mildred comes in. The washing machines are on her top floor. Now being “On in her years” she is a bit moody and does not always like change. So once the washing machine was delivered they found out that the opening to get the machine up to the top was about 1cm too small. The machine had been measured, but this was thought to not make too much difference. The opening is a metal grate fixed to the wall with a door build into it. Mildred was not welcoming at all. She refused to budge even the slightest bit. So the only thing left to do is unbolt the metal grate and remove the whole thing so that we can get the machine up. The same individual who so graciously gave towards the purchase of the machine also offered to help get it up, as they have a history in construction. During the process it was discovered that the grate was also tack welded in place. (tack welded meaning that there were small welds on each of the bolts to help make it even more secure) Touché Mildred. At this point to only two options are a hack saw or a big hammer. No hack saw was accessible so the hammer came into play. After some good strong hits it was still pretty stuck. Then Mildred released the grate in just the right manner to drop it on the toe of the generous man doing the work. Breaking off his toe nail. Requiring him to need to be sent to the clinic. The grate was then off and the machine went up fine. And now the metal grate is back up as well. The man however lost his toe nail, and was left limping for a week. His nail is growing back now…. Slowly. And he has no hard feelings towards Mildred. Mildred however offered no consolation for her outburst, but has warmed a bit to the washing machine.

Jimmy Continued
As per Mildred's request, traps were set to catch Jimmy. Now I know that there are some of you who may disagree with this decision, but it was Mildred's request as Jimmy has been destroying food meant for the needy (her wanted and welcome guests). Mildred, and us her caretakers, value the needy more than a mouse. Within 15 minutes of the fist trap being set we caught Jimmy. Pictured below. (not for the faint of heart) Then it became apparent that Jimmy had actually invited many friends and family to join him in being unwanted guests of Mildred.(All of which are named Jimmy) About a week in and we have caught around 15 Jimmys. All of which have been properly and humanely disposed of. Mildred is happy that her unwanted guests are being taken care of, however she laments in the way that it must be done. She asked them to leave nicely on several occasions and was saddened to see it come to this point. We stand with Mildred and her decision though.

Jimmy
Mildred has acquired an unwanted guest. A mouse that has been named Jimmy. Jimmy has decided to set up home with Mildred. Eat her food, and pester her wanted guests. Including jumping onto one of the during the night. Mildred has thus requested that us, her caregivers, do something to rid her of Jimmy.

Violated
So Mildred was Violated the other day. Someone came in through her roof and stole all of the copper tubes and wires for the aircon units. They also took all of the wires that run from the fuse box on the ground floor to the fuse box on the 2nd floor. So she hand no power on her top two floors. In the process the people tore apart one of the compressors for the aircon. So obviously this was greatly disturbing to Mildred along with us as her caretakers. Her power has been restored, and the aircon units should be repaired within the week. However this has of course shaken her confidence a bit, and will require some additional support. So we will be working with her to provide some added security. She should be back to normal in a week or two.

Termites
Termites love Mildred. Mildred is not too fond of them and has adverse reactions to them. The previous post was the falling of a beam because the termites had eaten through it. Mildred did not approve of being eaten and thus let us know. We where told that Mildred would need four of her old beams taken out. So we talked to the Lardlord, who does not value Mildred as much as we do, and he only removed the one that fell. Much to our and Mildred's dismay. But thus is life. At least Mildred no longer had holes in her.
